This captures a man in the twilight of his life. He sits at the piano, baring his soul and anguish. He sits in darkness, surrounded by the dust covered trophies from his past but they no longer seem to have any significance. This is an man coming to terms with his regrets, time, life and the inevitable.

A solitary figure finds a brief quiet sanctuary on the edges of city, with nothing but a small campfire to keep warm.
Inspired by the lyrics of Bruce Springsteen's 1995 song "The Ghost of Tom Joad" from the album of the same name. Its a beautifully written song exploring themes of social injustice, homelessness and poverty. It in turn was inspired by John Steinbeck's 1949 literary classic "The Grapes of Wrath".

"I'm not your son, you're not my father
We're just two men saying goodbye
No need to forgive, no need to forget
I know your mistakes and you know mine
While you're sleeping I'll try to make you proud
So daddy, won't you just close your eyes
Don't be afraid, its my turn
To keep the monsters away"
Painting inspired by the lyrics of James Blunt's "Monsters" from his 2019 album "Once Upon a Mind." Probably the saddest song I know and it resonates very strongly with me.
